James J. Doyle "JD" of Howard City, Michigan, aged 64, passed peacefully at his home after a short illness, surrounded by his wife and family, under the care of Faith Hospice, on January 3, 2020. Jim was born to James and Camilla (Nugent) Doyle on February 8, 1955, in Grand Rapids, Michigan and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Jim lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed his Sunday drives and all of his creations. His greatest project was the restoration of his 1939 Dodge Doyle truck-- he always said he "put more time on that than the Dodge brothers themselves." He is survived by the love of his life-- his wife Cheri; step-children Dale and Lester Ash, and Julie Gregory; dear grandson Wesley; his sisters, Kay (Henry) Rabot, Mary (John) Cottone and Colleen Czarnecki; father and mother-in-law, James and Francene Angers; brother-in-law Tim (Annie); sisters-in-law Michelle Angers and Jeannine (Bob Roelse) Angers; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other beloved members of the family. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Margaret Doyle; and brother-in-law James Angers. Some things that Jim wants us to remember: Take time to enjoy the simple pleasures around you! Get the good stuff. Hold on tight to your dreams. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2020, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 224 Carrier Street NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan, 49505. There will be a one-hour visitation prior to Mass. Jim enjoyed delivering Christmas presents to children with the Santa Claus Girls.
