James A Dietrich passed away August 18, 2026 at the age of 88.

He was born on July 12, 1938 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, Class of 1956, as well as Grand Rapids Junior College. In his younger years, he enjoyed working on cars and carried that passion for mechanics throughout his life. During his career, he wore many hats, including the hat of an electrician, maintenance supervisor, CNC technician, and electronics.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Johnny and Isabel (Warner) Dietrich; siblings, Joanne Milewski (Ben), Jacqueline Burton (Jim), Janet Burns (Bill), and Jerry Dietrich; and four of his children, Vicky, Suzy, Margaret, and Johnny.

He is survived by his wife Judy (Mead)Maxim; his daughter Theresa Dietrich Simmons (Kevin Patterson); his sons Mark (Lisa) and Michael; his stepchildren, Cathy Rosche (Bryce) and Dan Maxim (Sheri); his grandchildren, Josh Dietrich, Nick Chrisman (Andie), Amber Anderson (Shane), Ray Simmons (Jackie), and Heather Simmons; his great grandchildren; Hayden, Hope, and Benjamin.

A service to remember and celebrate Jim’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 26th at Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. Visitation will take place from 10:00-11:00am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am. Lunch will be provided following the service.

He will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery at 2:00pm for those who wish to attend.
