James R. Day of Kentwood, age 78, passed away at home on Christmas morning after a long courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Phyllis. Also surviving are his daughter, Kendra Livingston and son, Jason {Sara} Livingston; grandchildren, Grant {Daniel} Phillips, Cameron {Elizabeth} Young, Kylee {Luis} Juarez, Logan Slentz, Madison Slentz, Isaac Livingston and Evan Livingston and precious great- granddaughter, Eliana Young. A Memorial Service for James will be held on January 18, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Cornerstone Church, 2730 56th St., Wyoming, Michigan with Pastor Marcus Schmidt officiating. Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be buried at Fort Custer, Battle Creek, Michigan in a brief military service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Faith Hospices whose staff gave loving care to Jim in his final weeks.
