November 3, 2013 Jake VanTichelt passed away peacefully on November 3, 2013. Jake was born August 27, 1940 in Kalamazoo, the son of the late Jake and Evelyn (Hutchinson) VanTichelt. Jake graduated from Vicksburg High School in 1959 where he met his wife Elaine Royal and were married 53 years. Jake attended Ferris State University. He worked as a Mechanical Engineer specializing in plastic injection molding, he owned and operated Midway Molds. Jake was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed traveling to many locations for his sport. His latest favorite spot was Texas to hunt and fish with his nephew Louis. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren for their sports, fishing and hunting. Jake's immediate family are sons, Rick, Randy (deceased) and Rob (Trish). Daughters, Renee (Kyle) Christensen and Ronda (Dave) Stafford. Grandchildren, David, Shelby and Drew Stafford. Jake VanTichelt. Maya, Lydia and Orin VanTichelt. Sisters, Jane Decker, Marylane Ross and Charlene (Jim) Longman and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Loraine Frommann and Brother in laws, Jack Decker and William Frommann also his much loved father in law and mother in law, Bill and Vera Royal. Friends may meet with the family on Monday, November 11, 2013 for visitation at St. Martin Church in Vicksburg, MI at 10 AM. A mass service for Jake will be at 11 AM with a luncheon immediately following. Memorials may be made to South County Community Services.
