Obituary

Jacquiline Carmela Vokoviak (Vaglica), born on December 29, 1941, went to be with her Lord and savior on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 following a short battle with cancer.

Jackie grew up in Wyoming, Michigan and attended Godwin High School before attending beauty school and becoming a cosmetologist. She would speak fondly of her days at Pacemaker Salon in Standale and at Neil's Barber Hut.

Eventually leaving the beauty industry, she went into retail fashion, working at Woman's World clothing store in the Woodland Mall and at Katie's Closet in Breton Village Mall where she was a buyer. She said she really loved the fashion industry.

Jackie went on to start her own cleaning company, Bee Busy Cleaning. She started Bee Busy from nothing and grew it into a successful business, working with both residential and commercial clients. She worked for many prominent contractors in the Grand Rapids area, doing new construction cleanups, as well as residential and commercial cleaning for her many customers in the greater Grand Rapids area.

After retirement, she continued to live a full life. In her leisure time, Jackie enjoyed reading a good book, traveling, going to the casino, her yearly trips with the "girls" to Traverse City, dining out, and working in her yard, growing many types of plants and flowers. In her words, she said she had a great and full life with very few regrets, and she said she was able to do many things that others only dreamed of.

Jackie loved her grandchildren and enjoyed attending all of their different activities, sports, music events, theater performances, and more. She was loved by everyone whose lives she touched in her 83 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Virginia Vaglica, her husband, James Vokoviak Sr., brother James Vaglica, and step-son James Vokoviak Jr.

She is survived by her sons Thomas (Tom) Powell II (Dawn) and children Haley and Hudson, Anthony "Tony" Powell (Tisha) and son Tanner, her sister Marye Vaglica, step-daughters Debra Rodriguez and Teresa (Larry) Golden, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She will be fondly missed by all.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her roommate, caretaker, and friend, Virginia Padget, who was always there for Miss Jackie.

Jackie will be cremated in accordance with her wishes. Her family will be holding a memorial service at a later date, with details to come.
