Jacob Harley Corstange, 24, of Kalamazoo, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, June 20th, 2018. Jacob was born on March 15th, 1994, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Scott and Laura (Green) Corstange . He is survived by his sister Elizabeth Rose, daughter Lucy Lee, special friend Halley Szekely, grandparents Ronald and Cathie Corstange and Brent and Sue Benson, and many uncles, aunts and cousins. He attended Delton/Kellogg Schools where he played the tuba which helped hone his musical skills. This led to his affinity for the bass guitar. At age 14 he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes which caused him to have many challenges with his health. On 2/12/16 at 2:12 his dearest daughter Lucy was born. She was the apple of his eye and he loved her with every ounce of energy he had. He will be remembered for his big heart and constant friendship to all that knew him. He was always there for a friend that was feeling down, needed someone to talk to, or just needed one of his great big hugs. As an accomplished bassist he was well known for impromptu jams with many local musicians and was able to tour parts of the country with his friends the Hex Bombs. He also jammed with many of his parent's friends who were all amazed at his talent and commented on how cool it was to have a kid of his age be so well versed in the "older" music. He knew how to rock it! A Celebration of Life/Jam Session will be held on Sunday, July 8 at 2:00, with the music starting at 4:00 at Louie's Trophy House. 629 Walbridge St. in Kalamazoo.
