IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jack Edward
Klapmust
May 10, 1951 – April 30, 2022
Jack Edward Klapmust, age 70 of Alto, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, April 30, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Klapmust; his parents Jacob and Medora Klapmust; and his brother-in-law Paul Baker. He is survived by his three children, Jill Maas (Ryan), Mike Klapmust (Lisa), and Jake Klapmust (Amy Jo); nine beloved grandchildren, Carmen, Madison and Nathan Maas; Avalynn, Aubrey and Landon Klapmust; Chloe, Jackson and Brynlee Klapmust; along with his sisters, Barbara Baker and Marilyn Mooney (Ray), and many extended family members. Jack was born in New Jersey and graduated from Eastern Christian High School before moving to West Michigan to attend Calvin College. It was during that time that he met his sweetheart Patty and they settled down in Alto. Jack began working as a butcher for 18 years before getting into landscaping. He worked in landscaping for over 30 years before retiring in 2016. He had a passion for building, solving problems with his own inventions, taxidermy, and being outdoors. If you spent some time in the barn during hunting season, you were sure to hear plenty of stories. He was great at sharing his hard-earned knowledge and his lessons will not soon be forgotten. As one of his close friends said, "He would go out of his way to inconvenience himself for me. That's Jack - selfless." His legacy lives on through his adoring family, who will miss him greatly. A Celebration of Life will be held at Ada Bible Church (Cascade Campus) on Friday, May 13 from 6-8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Faith Hospice in Grand Rapids.
