Jack Herbert Ballard, age 74, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022, surrounded by family at his home in Otsego, Michigan.

Jack was born on August 13, 1947 to Herbert and Betty Ballard in Grand Rapids, MI. He grew up in Wyoming, MI and attended Wyoming (Park) High School where he met the love of his life, Ardy Bryant. They were married September 22, 1967, and lived in Wyoming until 1983, relocating to Hanover Park, IL, where Jack was production manager at Clark American Bank Stationery. In 1993 they moved to Las Vegas, NV where Jack was warranty administrator with Toyota until his retirement in 2016. Jack and Ardy came full circle, returning to Michigan in 2021.

Jack pledged his faith in his Lord and Savior at an early age in the Episcopal church and was steadfast in his commitment throughout his life. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather devoted to his wife and family.

Jack loved to travel and would have been on the road all the time if he could. He especially loved Mackinaw and the Upper Peninsula, any bodies of water, the national parks, and traveling to Florida. He never reached his goal of visiting all 50 states, but managed to stand in 46 of them.

He will be missed by all who knew him.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Betty Ballard; his sister, Carole Ballard, his twin sister, JoAnne Markin and his brother Douglas Ballard. He leaves behind his loving wife, Ardy; his daughter, Leslie Baux and her husband Dan; his son, Brian Ballard and his wife, Angie; his three grandsons, Jack, Iain, and Andrew Ballard, his two step-grandchildren, Ben Baux and Angel Baux and great-granddaughter, Alexandria.

Also surviving are his brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Bonnie Bryant, David and Patsy Bryant, Janine and Ron Oudbier, Marcia and Mark Westrate, Bonnie and Jim Kleersnyder, and special friends Marv and Cherie Curtis, along with many loving nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will take place on Jack's 75th birthday, Saturday, August 13, 2022.
