Hugh Keyes, age 84, of Rives Junction, Michigan passed peacefully Sunday October 27th at the
VA Battle Creek Medical Center. Hugh was born and raised east side of Detroit. After serving
in the United States Air Force for 10 years, Hugh was honorably discharged as staff sergeant.
Hugh was FAA certified airplane mechanic and held a patent on Automatic Brake System. He
was talented, witty, loved history, travel and reading biographies. Hugh is survived by wife of
28 years Yong, daughter Kelly (Mike), daughter-in-law Mary (Bob), grandsons Michael J.
Nyikos and Denny Taylor. A private burial will be held on November 12th at the Fort Custer
National Cemetery, Hugh's final resting place. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting
donations be made to the Fisher House Michigan (PO Box 130466, Ann Arbor, MI 48113).
