Karadsheh, Hind, age 84, of Grand Rapids, passed away with her family at her side on Saturday, January 9th 2016. She was preceeded in death by her husband Yacob in 2007. Hind is survived by her sons; Mazen (Nagla), Firas (Shireen), Raed (Maysoun), daughter; Khulood (Ramzi) Karachy, brothers; Jameil (Heneritte), Hani, Akram (Linda), sisters; Insaf (Wadi), Ragda (Sami), Ghada (George), many grand-children, great-grand-children, nieces and nephews. Hind was born in Jordan and while she lived there was an English teacher. She was an avid reader, very health conscious and loved to sew. Her family remembers Hind as a strong willed woman, with a witty sense of humor, full of compassion and selfless acts, always thinking of others ahead of her own needs. She battled an extreme case of rheumatoid arthritis for over 40 years with determination & vigor, while educating herself about her condition and essentially becoming her own doctor. Her greatest joy was her family and spending time with her grand kids and great grand kids. The family will greet friends and relatives on Monday, January 11th from 2-4pm and 6-9pm with a Trisagion service at 8:30pm at the Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Ave SE. The funeral will be held at 11am on Tuesday, January 12th with an hour of visitation before the service starts at St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church, 2250 E. Paris SE.
