Helen Nguyen was born on 12-23-1953 in Bac Ninh City Vietnam. Only daughter of Mrs. Men Thi Hoang born in 1920, deceased.
Helen married to John Huyen Nguyen on 6-6-1973 and had 5 children
1- John Xuan H Nguyen born in 1974 and married to
Thao Nguyen and have 3 children, Mika, Chloe and Dylan.
2- Dave Lee Nguyen born in 1977, married to Robyn Nguyen and have 2 boys, Landon and Evan
3- Trang Nguyen, born in 1979 and have 3 children Jenny Nguyen, Justin Nguyen, Bella Bui Nguyen.
4- Thy Hong Nguyen , born in 1981, married to Long Tran and has 2 sons, Ethan and Cody.
5- An Hong Nguyen is married to Randy Burri and has 2 sons, Taylen and Hunter. Helen has one grand-grand child : James, son of Jenny Nguyen.
So far Helen has 5 children, 11 grandchildren and one great grand-child.
Education: Helen finished high school in Vietnam.
Religion Helen is a devout Catholic. She used to be a Eucharistic Movement leader before getting married in 1973.
Hobbies Helen loves cooking, especially egg-rolls. It's so yummy that she had 600 rolls sold in a 2 day garage sale while residing at 3072 Morningside Dr. Kentwood, Michigan. She also loves embroidering and singing.
Helen's pets She loves dogs and pigs. She had a little white piggy. The pig friend was always very clean because she would bathe it several times a day; caring for her brought her so much joy and companionship, since She was an only child. Helen has a habit of keeping things neat and clean. Even to the time she is about to die; She asked for a clean cup to drink water. "Is the cup clean?" she asked.
Socialization Helen is a generous and easy going woman. She is a hard-working lady and always cares for others. Especially for her children, relatives and friends as well. Helen is a fearless woman who could face evil-doers. No matter who or where they are. She fears not ! That's an undeniable truth. Helen has wide-eyes and a beautiful smile. She never raise voice to anyone, John Nguyen, her man included. Unfortunately, sometimes she was abused by her co-workers she came home and cried to John, due to her English limitation, that she can't stand for herself. But she always brave enough to protect the weak, her children and her daughter-in-law as well. Helen cared for her elderly mother, father, and mother in laws while John and her 2 boys escaped to Thailand seeking for freedom. She was praised by Father Van, pastor of Tan Chi Linh Parish in Saigon. For being one of the most caring person. Helen and 3 daughters reunited with John and 2 boys in December 1991.
Work history: Helen started working at Creme-curls Bakery and made $4.24 /Hr. in Hudsonville just after one week of arrival in Michigan. Helen is a saver and wanted all her children to be successful in America. She did not hesitate to help them out. She took ESL class at night and finally after 5 or 6 years she became a US Citizen. She also worked for Steel Case Wood from 1998 until She retired in 2018 with honor.
Religion: Helen has been a devout Catholic since childhood. She had to get up and go to 5 am Mass with her mother, pray the Rosary daily. Helen and family are members of St. Mary Magdalene Church since 1998 after moving into a new home in Kentwood, Michigan. Helen loves Jesus and St. Mary so much. She dreamed of Jesus came to embrace her in His loving arm on the night of Jan 26, 2016. She keeps holding on the Mother of Fatima Statue days and nights since she gets sick. Helen is a permanent vowed member of the 3rd Dominican Order in An Lac Parish, Saigon. Helen today went to see the Lord, and reunite with her loved ones, especially her mother who passed away 7 years ago that she had no chance to attend her funeral or visit her grave resting place and wait for resurrection Helen will rest at the Catholic Cemetery Resurrection, Clyde Park, Michigan USA. and wait for resurrection when Jesus returns to earth the second time.
