Heidi Marianne Jung of Lyons, Michigan passed away peacefully at age 87 while her husband, Adolf Armbruster, held her hand, as she requested.

Born in Kaiserslautern, Germany, in 1939, Heidi's family came to the USA via the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. Heidi graduated from Pratt Institute in New York and later established and managed a large daycare program in Dover, PA, where she raised her own three children: Michael (Jennifer Mitchell) Silver of Berkley, CA, Susan Silver of Eugene, OR, and Rebecca (Poepping) Silver of Pikesville, MD. Heidi was a very devoted mother to her children and three grandchildren: Talyn, Gryphon, and Ellis.

Heidi will be deeply missed by her brother, Peter Jung (Tuula), of Birmingham, AL.

Heidi loved her adobe retirement home in Taos, NM, where she often sat with a morning cup of coffee viewing the snowy top of the spiritual Taos Mountain and the wider Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. New Mexico was a powerful force in her heart. She had a deep appreciation for other cultures, especially the Latino and Pueblo cultures in Taos.

In her daycare program, Heidi's kindness and compassion touched the lives of many children and their parents. She loved cooking, gardening, decorating and, especially, camping with her children. She was named Pennsylvania Outstanding Woman of the Year 1992. Even now, many years after her retirement, she received Facebook greetings from some of the children she nourished and guided in life.
