May 14, 2012 Hannelore (Hanne) Ebert passed away on Monday, May 14, 2012. She was born July 19, 1928 in Idar-Oberstein, Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents and twin brother Karl-Heinz Ebert. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Darwin (Jerry) Foster, daughter Denise; grandsons, Tyler and Shawn Johnson; many nieces, nephews, and friends. She met and married her husband who was serving in the U. S. Air Force in Germany. The couple returned to the United States in 1957, first making their home in Hartford, Ct., then in Muskegon, finally settling in Grand Rapids in 1971. She relished her many vacations in Germany as well as the 15 winters she and Jerry enjoyed in Florida. Cremation has taken place and she will be interred at Blythefield Memory Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, May 21 at the Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Ave., S. E. and one hour prior to the memorial service at Faith Hospice. A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 22 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods, 8214 Pfeiffer Farms Drive, S. W. (one block west of US131 off 84th St.) In lieu of flowers, contributions in Hanne's memory may be made to Faith Hospice or to the American Cancer Society. The family is profoundly grateful to the dedicated nurses and staff of Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods for their compassionate and loving care of Hanne during her final days.
