Grace (Mulder) Johnson, age 78, of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

Born March 13, 1948, Grace was the oldest of the four children born to Alex and Anna (Kirkhoff) Mulder. She was born in Bandung, Java, Indonesia and relocated with her family to the Netherlands after WWII. After emigrating to the US in 1957, Grace attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and West Catholic High School.

Grace had a deep passion for life’s simple pleasures. An exceptional cook and baker, she found immense joy in bringing prized dishes to any family gathering. She loved the music of The Beatles and Motown, which she always played even in her later years. Grace possessed a profound appreciation for art and the beauty of nature, always finding inspiration in the world around her. Above all, her greatest joy was her family, to whom she dedicated her endless love and devotion.

Grace is survived by her sons Brian (Anita) Johnson and Scott Johnson, both of Grand Rapids. Grandchildren Nicholas, Andie and Lucas Johnson. Brothers Avith (Cheryl) Mulder of Grand Rapids, Charles (Janie) Mulder of Walnut CA, and sister Yvonne (Dan) Gillies of Sacramento CA., as well as many nieces and nephews.
