Gilbert (Gil) L. Saunders went to be with his Lord on Monday, June 14, 2021. Gil was born on July 29, 1934 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Saunders, his second wife, Shirley (Quist) and his son-in-law, Randy Johnson.

He is survived by his children, Cheryl (Randy) Johnson, Rick (Debbie) Saunders and Chris (Mike) Cunningham; his stepchildren, Ron Quist and Dawn (Jeffrey) Fuller, 15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Gilbert was committed to his Lord, his church and his family. He retired from the CSX railroad after nearly 40 years.

A Memorial Service will be held at Lighthouse Baptist Church (501 E. 24th St. Holland, Michigan) at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 17, 2021 with Pastor Bart W. Spencer officiating. You are invited to greet the family before the service from 9:45 am - 11:00 am.
