Gerald "Jerry" Kasteline, nearly 96 years old, of
Grand Rapids, passed away Wednesday
evening, May 24, 2023, after a long and eventful
life.

After high school, Jerry enlisted in the United
States Army, serving from October 1946 to April
1948. He was a longtime employee at Roadway
Express in Holland, retiring in 1992.

Jerry was an avid bowler and successful
horseshoe ringer at state and national
competitions. Watching the Detroit Tigers play
baseball was a favorite pastime in retirement. He
also enjoyed viewing the games of the Detroit
Lions, Detroit Pistons, and Detroit Red Wings.

Liane, his wife of 50 years, preceded him in
death, as did sons Kelly and Joel. He is survived
by son David and wife Mary Kay, son Kyle,
granddaughter Molly, sister Lois, sister-in-law
Arlene, and many nieces and nephews.

The family is grateful for the compassionate care
Jerry received from the many caregivers at Clark
Retirement, the University of Michigan Health-
West Hospital, and Faith Hospice. Memorial
donations may be made to Faith Hospice or the
Clark Foundation.
