January 4, 2015 Service: January 8, 2015 Gerald Allen Doyle, age 79, of Kentwood, walked into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, January 4, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Gerald was preceded in death by his loving wife Shirley Ann Doyle (Moore), his parents Merle and Mary Doyle, and sister and brothers Bernice Jaynes, Kelley Butler, Maurice Butler and Robert Doyle. He was a devoted father to Lynn (Dave) Drinan, Patty (Cary) Klinkner, and Rick (Chris) Doyle, and the best grandpa to Amy, Brian, Brad, Brittany, Matt, Patrick, Nick and Tony. He is remembered fondly by his sister Betty Junewick and in-laws George Moore, Margie Slivinski, Loretta (Ed) Huard, Betty Moore, Gale Doyle and many nieces / nephews and special friends. Jerry loved life and enjoyed gardening, home improvement projects, Christmas decorations, and lunch with family and friends. The family is grateful to the Cancer & Hematology Centers of Western Michigan for their loving care. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-8pm at Ofield Funeral Home and a rosary will be conducted Wednesday at 7:00. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday, January 8, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Fr. Troy Nevins, Celebrant. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Faith Hospice.
