George Robert Mossel, age 78, went to be the Lord on August 21, 2023. He was born to George and Clara Mossel on April 2, 1945 in Hammond, Indiana. He was raised in South Holland, IL, attended Illiana Christian HS, Calvin College, and Calvin Theological Seminary. Upon completion of seminary, George served as pastor at Newman Chapel in Ferry, MI. Later he accepted a call to serve at Hillside CRC in Cutlerville, MI. George retired in 2011. He spent the last 12 years of his life traveling, and enjoying time with family and friends at Young's Lake in Big Rapids and at home in Byron Center. George is survived by his loving wife Eunice (Zandstra) Mossel of 58 years, sister Jackie (Mossel) Henderson along with his sons and daughters in law: Rob and Kristin, Todd and Ali, John and Heather and nine grandchildren. George had a heart for the Lord and for reaching out to those in need and showing them a path to the Lord without judgement. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  He enjoyed MANY hobbies but his passions were his faith and his family. There will be a time of visitation at Hillside Community CRC on Friday September 1 from 6-8 PM and Saturday from 10-10:45 AM with a celebration of life immediately following at 11:00.
