George C. Mead, 82 Passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, November 5, 2017 after a short battle with cancer. A native to Prairie City, Illinois, he attended the University of Illinois for his undergraduate, masters and doctorates degrees in accounting. George gave 37 years to MSU as an accounting professor. He enjoyed his retirement years involved in his grandchildren's sporting and other educational activities. He loved MSU and the Chicago Cubs. He touched the lives of many, and will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by wife Kae Mead, children Nancy Mead, Bill (Vicky) Mead, Anne (Dave) Paulson, Lori (Kurt) Varner, Phil (Korrine) Rogers, Sue (Dale) Johnson, Debra (David) Parrish, Diane Koonce, Toni (Scott) Taylor, Tracy (Brad) Brechting, 20 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Stonewater Country Club from 6pm-10pm. 7177 Kalamazoo Ave. SE. Caledonia, MI 49316.
