George ("JR") Jacob Johns III, a veteran of the Korean War, passed away peacefully, November 11, 2022 at the age of 73. George lived life full throttle and loved all things fast. He worked in auto body repair, spending endless hours at his body shop rebuilding and customizing classic cars, his 1956 Chevy, one of his favorite customs. George was well known in the 80's & 90's for his custom paint jobs, winning multiple awards for best paint at car shows. He was passionate about cars and his work, but never considered it "work." His motto--find what you love to do and you won't spend your life working, you'll spend your life passionate about your work. George boasted a hard exterior, but deep down, he had a giving heart - if he had it, he gave it. George is survived by his wife Gina, brother Greg (Jody), sister Gail, niece, Brande (Kevin) Parker and nephew, Mike Johns. Pastor Jake Blauwkamp will be officiating the service which will be held at Resurrection Life Church, 5100 Ivanrest Avenue SW, Grandville MI Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 11:00am with a luncheon following. Please enter at Door E. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Battle Creek, Michigan.
