IN LOVING MEMORY OF
George Burley
Drayton
April 17, 1930 – September 25, 2025
George Burley Drayton wished to have made it to 100 years of age but was called home a little early aged 95. His family has decided to remember George as the centenarian he wished to be.
George will be reunited in Heaven with his wife, Lois, his children, Barbara, Brian, Wanda, and James, his parents, and many siblings. George's remaining family is a legacy of generations including children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
George was a veteran of the Korean era war where he was stationed in the artillery managing cannons.
George and Lois were married in 1951, and raised 6 children together. They enjoyed their retirement between Ludington and Texas where they made many friends. George was also lifelong Mason.
George worked as a truck driver, proudly driving over 2 million miles, and receiving truck driver of the year for Ryder.
The family is grateful for the care, assistance, and love from all staff of the Michigan Veteran Homes at Grand Rapids. George was able to enjoy a copious amount of bingo while a resident and enjoyed few other things quite as much.
The family will hold an internment in the spring of 2026.
