George Bylsma, age 92, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 19, 2021. He enjoyed making people smile and laugh and will be sorely missed. He immigrated from the Netherlands with his family in 1949. He served our country in Korea from 1951 - 1953. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Naval Architecture and worked for Babcock and Wilcox (TLT) in Akron, OH for many years. After retiring, he moved to Grand Rapids where he was closer to family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ada Bylsma, his brother Al Bylsma and sister Jan Kosten. George is survived by Kristina Bylsma, his wife of 67 years, his sons Frank (Linda) Bylsma, Rick (Bly) Bylsma, Ken (Adriana) Bylsma, and Glenn Bylsma. He is also survived by his sisters, Etta VanderWerff and Mina (Gord) Dornbush as well as eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be held from 3:00 untl 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, 2021, at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Avenue SE, Kentwood, MI 49508.

The funeral service will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. by Pastor Pat Binish on Monday, May 24, 2021, in the ResCenter at Resurrection Life Church, 5100 Ivanrest Avenue SW, Grandville, MI 49418. Relatives and friends are welcome to visit with family from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Please enter through doors E or H.
