September 15, 2012 Service: September 27, 2012 Gene Irene Wax (Patterson) of Grand Rapids, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2012. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Warren Ewing, second husband, Ben Wax and her six brothers, Homer, Bernard, Sam, James, Lindy and Clifford. Gene will be lovingly remembered by her children, Marie Mercier and Nancy (Jeff) Hoag; grandchildren, Melissa (Randy) Limbacher, Michele Bowyer, Sharon (Michael) Emery, Jennifer Hoag, Jeffrey (Angelica) Hoag II and Danny K. Timmer, as well as her great-grandchildren. Visitation with the family will take place from 6-7pm Thursday, September 27th followed by a memorial service at 7:00pm at the Ofield Funeral Home. In honor of Gene, contributions can be made to Christian Rest Home Association. The family would like to express a special "thank you" to Gene's caregivers at Christian Rest Home.
