Gene Boven from Byron Center, MI (formerly of Falmouth) age 85, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021.

Gene was an Army veteran who served in Korea.

Gene and Hazel have been members at Sandy Pines for 47 years and have many cherished memories with family and lots of friends.

Woodworking was a loved hobby of Gene. Through that he has blessed many people by giving crosses, puzzles, bird houses, and wooden gifts.

Gene is survived by his wife of 62 years, Hazel Warsen. 2 daughters ; Brenda Boven (Tom Shay) and Roxanne (Tim) Bareman. 7 grandchildren; Paul (Jenna) Bandstra, Krysten and Kelsey Bandstra. Chad Bareman, Andrea (Chad) Czyzewicz, Ryan and Alisa Bareman. 6 great-grandchildren; Braylee, Jameson, Tye, Lillian, Jadyn and Beckett. brother Ron (Marilyn) Boven, sisters Delphine Quist and Marlene Davis, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Delmar and Mattie Boven, brother Alvin Boven, and a nephew.

A gathering time for friends and family will be on Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 2:00-5:00 P.M at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens Chapel in Grandville, Michigan.
