Gaylen Omega Woods, age 82, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 6, 2022.

She was born on August 31, 1939, in Carbon Hill, Alabama, to Sam and Flora (McGough) Price.

Gaylen loved to spend time outside working in the garden. In her earlier years, she loved to fish. She also enjoyed sewing and puzzles.

She is survived by her two daughters: Kimberlee (Kurt) Barber and Deborah Woods; her grandchildren: Michael (Emilee) Braxmaier, Amanda Woods, and Mackenzie Kloska; 5 great-grandchildren; as well as her "adopted son" and special neighbor, Bruce Towne and his wife Angie; as well as many other family, friends, and neighbors.

Gaylen was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie Woods; her parents; and her sisters: Margaret White, Sarah Zwemmer, and Annette Currington.

A memorial service will take place at 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Kentwood, with John Dubois officiating. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. A luncheon will follow. Burial will take place at a later date at Rosedale Cemetery. Service Details. Visitation
