Obituary

Gary L Lofquist, 71, of Grand Rapids, Mi and Bradenton FL passed into glory on November 21, 2017 of cardiac arrest. He graduated from Union High School in 1965 and joined the US Navy serving in the Pacific. Gary was a strong man and spent much of his retirement years helping others with tasks he found fulfilling. His biggest joy was always his children, grandchildren and great grandchild. His love for his family and friends was unshakable. He was preceeded in death by his parents: Elmer and Helen Lofquist, brother Jack Lofquist, children Brad Lofquist and Lisa Lofquist Richardson, nephews Craig Steil and Donald Lofquist. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Susan Sandiford Lofquist, sister Geraldine Ellinger, children Erika (Brian) Dech, Sean (Elizabeth) Hanify, Grand children Cody (Sara) Bos, Gabrielle Richardson, Macie Richardson, AJ Dech, Emma Lofquist, Christopher Hanify, Sophie Dech, Jake Lofquist, Aidan Hanify, Ava Hanify and Great Granddaughter Braelyn Millard. Dear friends Donald (Judy) Ford and Ken (Betty) Heim. Frontline Bible Church at 8283 Pfieffer Farms Dr SW Byron Center, Mi 49315, host the memorial on Saturday November 25 with family arriving at 11 AM for visitation and service at 12 noon. A simple luncheon will follow immediately at the church. In Lieu of flowers we suggest donations to Frontline- Gary Lofquist Memorial Fund. Gary has a zest for life and need to assist and please those around him. His biggest joys were his family and in particular, his 'Princesses' as they held his heart the strongest. His unbeatable sense of humor and love for family will live on long after him.
