Obituary

Gabrielle "Gabby" Hage-Barfield, age 27, passed away on August 20, 2026. She was born on October 24, 1998, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Kristie (Hage) Castillo and the late Terry Barfield.

Gabby will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and friends, her caring spirit, and the joy she brought to those around her. Above all, she cherished her daughter, Isabelle, who was the center of her world.

Gabby was preceded in death by her father, Terry Barfield; her brother, Dustin Castillo; her grandmother, Kari Devriendt; and her uncle, Wesley Elliot.

She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Isabelle Hage; her mother, Kristie Castillo; her stepfather, Tony Castillo; her sister, Kaley Hage; her brothers, Dakota Castillo and Austin Castillo; her niece, Sophia Chandler; her grandmother, Linda VanStee; her grandfathers, Glenn VanStee and David Castillo; her aunts, Kinda Schuur (Greg Schuur), Kellie Moore (Michael Moore), Karrie Varnedoe (Harold Varnedoe), Katie Kenney (Jawaun Kenney), Sara Ivie, and Tilishia Elliot; her uncle, Justin Devriendt; as well as many beloved cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Avenue SE, Kentwood, MI 49508. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m.

Following the service, cremation will take place, and there will be no graveside service at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to Kristie Castillo.

A Celebration of Life will also be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at the FOP Hall, 2123 Huizen Avenue SW, Wyoming, MI 49509.

In honor of Gabby's memory, the family shares this message: If you are suffering from the disease of addiction, please choose life and reach out for help. There is always hope, and help is available.

Gabby's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. ❤️
