Obituary

Fredrick C Handwerg passed away on Friday June 7, 2024, surrounded by his family. Fred was born on August 31, 1951 in Holland, Michigan. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Fredrick Sr and Margaret Handwerg; brothers, James Handwerg, Michael Handwerg. Fred is survived by his wife, Constance Handwerg; children, Brett (Rachael) Handwerg, Rachel (Chris Beverwyk) Handwerg; grandchildren, Jared, Aidan, Peyton; siblings, Donna (Ron) Wagner, Terry (Betty) Handwerg, Sue Dalman, Marc (Phyllis) Handwerg; four sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law; many nieces and nephews. Fred will lovingly be remembered by his many friends and family.

Fred was a devoted husband, loving father, and great friend. Fred was a proud veteran who served his country in the Vietnam War. Some of Fred's favorite times were spent out on the water fishing with his best friend, Mike or his brother, Henry. He spent many years at deer camp with his son, Brett and other family at Ruby Creek. In his younger years Fred spent a lot of time with Connie watching Brett and Rachel at their swim meets. After retirement Fred and Connie spent summers in Michigan and winters in Florida where they would ride bikes to the beach and soak up the warm sun.

A memorial ceremony will be held on Friday June 14, 2024 at 3 pm at Restlawn Memorial Gardens Chapel, 944 Paw Paw Drive, Holland, Michigan 49423.
