Frederick D. Putney of Kentwood, MI (originally from Frankfort, MI), age 67, passed away on November 3, 2021. He was born to Clare and Anna (Gunderson) Putney on March 23, 1954. Fred was born the fourth of nine children near the shores of Lake Michigan in Frankfort. He was an attendee of Michigan School for the Deaf in Flint, Michigan prior to transferring and graduating from Frankfort High School. He received technical training certifications in two fields, floor covering and manufacture printing, from State Technical Institute and Rehabilitation Center in Plainwell, Michigan. Fred was married to Gayle (Braboy) Putney. He fathered two girls, Rhonda Maxwell of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Gretchen Jewell of Phoenix, Arizona. Fred loved to fish, work on cars and make people laugh. In his spare time, Fred would enjoy listening to music through high-powered headphones. Fred is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years Gayle, his loving daughters Rhonda and Gretchen, his caring grandsons Chase and Damon, his beautiful granddaughters Bri and Ali, his brother George, his sisters Chrissy, Rosemary, Carol and Barbara. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 3 brothers, Clare Jr, Johnny and Thomas. The family would like to thank the PACE program and Lisa at Care Resources for their attentive coordination of care following his second stroke and both Railside Assisted Living as well as Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods for their care and compassion in his final weeks and days There will be a small family Celebration of Life taking place in his hometown during Thanksgiving weekend.
