Franziska Watkins of Wyoming, Michigan, age 89, passed away on January 24, 2021. Fran was one of eight children born in Germany. While in Germany, Fran met Frank Watkins, a Sergeant in the United States Army, and subsequently moved to Michigan and was married.
Fran retired from Montgomery Ward, but loved to be with people. She took a part-time job at a neighborhood grocery store for a few years and when that closed, she worked as a cashier in a local shoe store until she was 82. Fran enjoyed gardening, playing Bingo and being with her family.
Fran is survived by two children Petra Rotzell and Richard (Julie) Watkins, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Wings of Hope Hospice for their care and compassion during Fran's illness.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring with date pending.
