A Journey to a New Home
Fernanda immigrated to the United States from Portugal in 1973, settling in Holland, Michigan. It was there she built a loving home and raised her family, creating a legacy that would last beyond her years.
A Life of Faith and Love
Fernanda was not only a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother but most importantly, a child of God. Her faith in the Lord was a guiding light, illuminating the lives of all who knew her. Fernanda was cherished by many, but her true gift lay in the way she loved everyone around her. Her door was always open to those in need, and she found joy in caring for others. Her laughter was infectious, spreading warmth and happiness wherever she went.
A Legacy of Sacrifice
Fernanda was a woman of remarkable sacrifice, embodying the love of Jesus in her actions. Her life was a testament to selflessness and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.
Family and Legacy
Fernanda is survived by her devoted husband, Carlos A. Esteves, and her children: Margarida, Sandra, Carlos, Fatima, Fernando, and Ana. Her legacy continues through her 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, with 3 more to arrive soon. Fernanda’s love extended beyond her immediate family, as she embraced everyone as her own, making them feel like family.
Fernanda Fatima Esteves will be remembered for her boundless love, unwavering faith, and the joy she brought into the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends, reminding them of the power of love and faith.
There will be a celebration of life for Fernanda at a later date. Her wishes were to be cremated and celebrated, not to morn, not to cry, but to laugh, smile and dance as we remember her.
“This is not goodbye, it is until we see each other again” as she said. If you would like to do something in her memory, plant some flowers in her remembrance, she loved the beauty of all flowers. Just as a seed needs water, sun and love to grow that is exactly what Fernanda gave to everyone she loved.
