May 15, 2013 Service: May 18, 2013 PHILLIPS- Fern L. Phillips nee Beye aged 91, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013. Fern is survived by her husband Ed; children, Bob and Lynnanne Phillips, Marcia and Jim Harrison; grandchildren, Vandi and Donald Patterson, Nikki and Chad Reed, Erica Phillips; great-grandchildren, Gabe Patterson, Casey and Harrison Reed. Fern was a loving caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, sewing and painting. She was the 2nd to last surviving member of K-8er's group which was formed during WWII to do charitable works in the community. She was a past active member of Smith Memorial Congregational Church. Funeral services will be held at 10AM, Saturday, May 18, in the Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Ave SE. The family will meet with friends and relatives Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm and 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment Rest Lawn Memorial Park.
