Dowel, Evelyn K. died peacefully with her daughters by her side on November 3, 2021. Evelyn is lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Loralee Trinkle (Jim), Renee Cherette (Mike) and Nancy Groendal (Mark). Evelyn was a deeply proud grandmother to five grandchildren, Justin Robinson, Nancy Belkoski (Bernie), Derek Trinkle (Heather), Jennifer Julius and Jeffrey Julius (Meredith), two great-grandchildren, Cole Robinson and Madeline Trinkle, and is also survived by two sister-in-laws, Antoinette Rouhib and Barbara Dowel, along with many nieces and nephews. Evelyn was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 4, 1931. She was preceded in death by Arthur Dowel, her husband of 68 years; her great grandson, Charlie Trinkle, brother-in-laws, Richard Podolski, Conrad Dowel, Joseph Rouhib, and her parents, William and Evelyn Harvey. Evelyn was an amazing entrepreneur and opened a successful sewing school, "Evelyn K's Sewing School," in Clawson, Michigan for many years; teaching numerous women and children sewing, along with selling sewing machines, materials, patterns, etc. After Evelyn retired, she taught art in her home to many budding artists. Evelyn loved many activities, including tennis, cycling, skiing, camping, hiking with her family out West, and even had the pleasure of traveling to Europe with her husband and daughters. The family would like to thank The Medical Team Hospice for the love, support, and care that they extended to Evelyn. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at The White Chapel Cemetery in the Temple of Memories, Chapel of Flowers, located in the middle of the cemetery at 621 W. Long Lake Road in Troy, MI on Saturday, November 13, 2021. Visitation and service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon following.
