Evan Wicher Runner, age 72, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, February 26, 2023.

Evan was born on May 17, 1950 in Badhoevedorp, the Netherlands.  On April 27, 1974, he was married to Mary.  Evan enjoyed Biblical and theological discussions, exploring computers and technology, and watching his favorite TV shows while eating chips, milk duds, and nonpareils. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Devan, Aidan, Brynn, Brianna, Kyla, Olivia, Sydney, and Lauren. He was quick to engage like a goofy child as soon as the grandchildren came around.

Evan is survived by his sons Steve (& Sara) Runner, Phillip (& Stacy) Runner; eight grandchildren; sisters Jocelyn (& Scott) Leasure and Cathy Collins, brothers-in-law Ralph (& Carol) Hollander, Bob (& Carol) Hollander, and sister-in-law Maggie (Florence) Quinn.  He was preceded in death by his wife Mary (Hollander) Runner.

A Christian funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 4 at 11:00 AM at the Raybrook Manor Chapel located at 2121 Raybrook SE in Grand Rapids with Rev. Breno Macedo presiding.  Visitation will take place before the service from 9:30 - 11:00 AM at the chapel.  A private burial service will take place at 2:00 PM at Greenwood Cemetery, 1401 Leonard St NW in Grand Rapids.  Memorial contributions can be made to Pella Christian Grade School and Zion Christian School.
