Eugene (Gene) D. Dobies, age 79, passed away on July 3, 2020 after a long illness.
He was born on December 31, 1940 in Detroit, MI to Fred and Jean Dobies.
He is survived by Lin, his wife of 43 years; daughters, Tracy (Chad) Dickinson and Tricia (Greg) Chismar; stepson, Brent (Deb) Radhs; grandchildren, Matthew and Abigail; his sister, Louise Wroblewski and her children Kim, Jason and James as well as their families.
Everyone who knew Gene appreciated his big heart and generous spirit. Whether sharing his favorite Polish food or his latest jokes, he endeared himself to all. He was so proud of his grandchildren and wanted to instill in them the empathy and compassion he had for others. For some 50 years those qualities were also clearly evident as he shared comforting Bible truths with others as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. His family and friends will treasure his legacy of love and laughter.
A Zoom funeral service will be held at a later date.
