Obituary

Esther Hoag, age 76 years old, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 7, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her husband of many years, Orville Hoag. Also preceding her in death were her children Orville, Dawn, Angel, her mom Ethel, her father David Heiss, her sister Suson, her bother Steven, Bruce and David, her daughter in laws Sonia Hoag, Alisha O'Neal Hoag, her sister Diane Heiss of Cedar Springs and her brother Dale Heiss of Cedar Springs.

She is survived by her kids Don Hoag of Hastings, Harold Hoag Jr. with (Jennifer)  of Delton, and Ginger Hoag  (Hector) of Wyoming, her grandkids Daniel Hoag of Wyoming, Matthew (Mackenzie) with Great granddaughter Deliah McGuire of Rockford, Joshua (Katelynn) McGuire of Wyoming, Jonathon (Jasmin) McGuire of Wyoming, Kaden ( Ari) Hersey of Grand Rapids, Jayden (Kailey) Hersey of Grand Rapids, Kendis Hersey of Grand Rapids, and Alisha Hersey of Grand Rapids, Katie Eppink of Allendale, and her sisters Aunt Debra of Kentwood, Janet (Jerry) of Lake Odessa, Jean (Don) Resler of Sand Lake, and Ruth Heiss of Cedar Springs. And other family and friends.

She also loved reading her Bible, listening to her music, singing and dancing along, coloring, and doing her word search puzzle books. She loved playing games and telling funny jokes. She was a kind, and a sweet woman to all who ever had the chance to know her.

She had Cerebral Palsy and had to spend some time in the Mary Free Bed clinic where she met Orville. She overcame so many obstacles and challenges from that disease, which made her a tough woman. She worked at Goodwill in downtown Grand Rapids and reconnected with her forever partner Orville, that's when they decided to spend the rest of their lives together. They were married over 50 years together. When was mad at you she made sure you knew it, she had a lot of challenges growing up she was told she could never marry or have children, and never grow old, however she lived a pretty full long life. Realistically, she lived a really good life to learn how to get around and walk and do things that they never thought, so I'm very proud of her. I'm her only child and I was a miracle that I made it, but the whole reason I made it is because of the strong person she was.

She will never be forgotten and will forever be in all of our hearts. The Celebration of life will be held on June 8, 2025 at Streetlight Ministries 515 Division Ave S, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
