Her Story

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:10)

Es' Marie Michelle Wallace, was born on July 10, 2002, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Ebony Monique Wallace, and Marcus Jerimiah DeCosey.

Es'Marie was a graduate of Ottawa Hills High School, Class of 2020. She was a member of the Ottawa Hills High School Girl's Basketball team, and the Dance Squad.

Es'Marie was a truly amazing young woman. She was fun, loving, full of energy, and deeply committed to her family. She had a heart of gold and a beautiful spirit that touched everyone who knew her.

Affectionately known as her mom's "Goofy," Es'Marie loved to dance, create videos with her sisters and friends, and bring laughter wherever she went. She had a special gift for making everyone around her feel included and ensuring that those in her presence were having a good time.

Above all, Es'Marie was a devoted mother to her beloved daughter, Za'Miya. The two shared a special bond, often spending time walking to the park together. Za'Miya fondly talks about their walks and her favorite tree that she and her mom would see along the way, a simple but beautiful reminder of the love and joy they shared.
