Erma J. Fongers, age 93, of Walker, began her eternal life through her faith in Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 18, 2017, surrounded by her family. Erma was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Jean VanOosten; her husband of 40 years, Donald; and her brothers, Howard (Jean), Jim VanOosten; son-in-law, Ron (Chip) Chase. Surviving are her children, Tom (Deb) Fongers, Dave (Joanne) Fongers, Cheryl (Ed) Mulder, and Donna Chase; sisters, Mickey (Tom) Mathews, Millie (Dave) Schick; sisters-in-laws, Mary Jane VanOosten and Sandra Fongers; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Remembrance Church, 4575 Remembrance Rd. NW in Walker at 1:30 PM on Saturday, April 1, 2017. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place.
