Emil Przeklasa passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August 18,2024 at the age of 73.  Emil was born on May 9, 1951 and attended Utica,MI community schools.  As a child, Emil allegedly walked 5 miles, up hill, in the snow, both ways to school.  He later married his high school sweetheart, Judy, in 1972 and they had 51.9 years together.

Emil began working for Burger King, moving to manager, director, and finally franchisee of 13 restaurants in the Cincinnati, OH area.  He sold those restaurants, giving up operations but becoming a landlord in 1998. Due to his hard work, Emil was able to retire early and have fun spending time with family and friends.  Emil loved to make people laugh with his comical phrases, costumes, and jokes.  He enjoyed grilling making the best hamburgers, pizza and hot dogs.  He also enjoyed "snitching", eating food while it was being made.

Emil was a "car guy" and one of his main hobbies was collecting cars from years 1924 to 2020.  His goal was to have one from each decade.  His neighbors at Gun Lake would see him often cruising by in a different vehicle.  Emil loved Gun Lake and was happy to live in such a wonderful place.

A daily Yahtzee game was played for many years.  Somehow, Emil lost a statistically impossible 98 % of games played against his wife over the last 30 years

Emil and Judy shared 5 grandchildren, Chloe (age 13), Harper (age 11), Evelyn (age 9), Elias (age 8), and Milo (age 6).  Emil enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren who called him Papa.  Jeep rides and boat rides were Papa's favorite way to keep his grandchildren happy.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Judy, and his children, Jill (Brian) Nelson, Adam and Erin(Tara) Spinelli as well as his grandchildren, Chloe, Harper, Evelyn, Elias, and Milo.

A memorial service may be planned at a later date.  The family requests in lieu of flowers or gifts, memorial considerations can be made in Emil's memory to the Mayo Clinic at philanthropy.mayoclinic.org.
