Dale passed on June 25, 2020, and Elizabeth (Betty) passed on June 27, 2022. Both resided in Otsego, Michigan for more than 65 years. They were married on December 23, 1950, in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Dad was the only child of Rancy and Bertha Philmon and was born in Battle Creek, MI. Betty was the middle child of Justin and Mary Simpson and was born in Kalamazoo, MI.
Dale was a graduate of Delton, High School, in 1950. Betty was a graduate of Richland High School in 1950.

Dale loved to share his adventures as an over-the-road truck driver which for many years were with the Otsego Creamery. Dale was also a volunteer firefighter for the Otsego Fire Department as an engineer for more than 20 years.
Betty loved making Dale happy, when he was home, and making a wonderful home for their five children. She also enjoyed teaching sewing and knitting for the 4-H group in Otsego.
Betty was also known as the lunch lady for the Otsego School System until she retired in 1996.
She also taught her children to be humble servants of the Lord and volunteered to make dumplings and help with the spaghetti supper in the fall at the Otsego Methodist Church.

Dale and Betty loved to travel and camp with their children. After they retired, they traveled everywhere, Arkansas, Texas, Alaska, to name a few, and many other places in between. They especially enjoyed visiting all their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, sister, and brother-in-law.

They leave behind their children: MaryAnn (Phil) Stratton, Russell (Donna) Philmon, Linda (Greg) Powell, Dottie (Carl) Flickinger, and Edie Burklow.
Grandchildren: Jennifer, Jeff (Heather), Joe (Kat) White, Kym, Russell Stratton. Stephanie (Neil) Feltenberger, Tanya (Tim) Marsh, Rodney (Renee) Philmon. Brittany, Dustin Powell. Mike (Jessica), April, Andy Flickinger. Derrick Burklow. and 20 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Vicinia Gardens of Otsego, MI. for their care and compassion during Betty's struggle with dementia over the past year and a half.

They were both cremated by Simply Cremations.
