Elizabeth (Beth) I. Kruse, 89, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away in Zeeland, MI, on Sunday, December 10, 2023.

Born in Evansville, IN, she was the youngest of eleven children. Her care and concern for others led her to graduate from the IU School of Nursing in 1956.  While practicing nursing in Indianapolis, she met Melvin Kruse at a church fellowship group, and in less than a year they were engaged and married. Together they raised two daughters.

Beth will always be remembered by her servant heart and genuine smile. She found joy in serving others, at home, at work, and in her many volunteer roles.  She loved studying the bible and spending time with family and friends.

Her heart was truly a reflection of Jesus. May her memory live on through those of us who were taught well by her example.

Beth was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin (Mel) Kruse, and is survived by daughters Kathy Layman and Karen (Tim) Bush; 4 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

A private memorial and internment are planned.
