Our family Matriarch, Elizabeth L Key, of Kentwood, Michigan, formerly of Sand Lake, age 94, peacefully fell asleep in Jesus on February 2, 2022. She was born Elizabeth L Atkinson to Charles and Josephine on December 18, 1928 in McComb , Mississippi. Elizabeth married Johnnie Key on December 1, 1966 and remained married until the day he passed on January 7, 2005.

Elizabeth lived her life caregiving not only as a nurse and home caregiver, but raised her grandsons and played and active role with her great grandchildren as well. Elizabeth made friends where ever she went, she had that way about her. She loved to do puzzles with friends and family for hours and loved serving her Kool-Aid pie for dessert.

Elizabeth will be sadly missed by her grandsons John (Judy) Fields, Edward Fields, and Cory Phillips, along with several great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her very close friend Kris Ras.

Elizabeth has joined her husband Johnnie, her daughter Alice Phillips, several brothers, sisters and her parents in Heaven.

A summer memorial/celebration of life is being considered. In lieu of any flowers or donations we ask that you do what Elizabeth would do-love unconditionally- hug your child, grandchild, family or friends- take a walk or do a puzzle with family or friends.
