October 6, 2012 Service: October 10, 2012 Dr. Eldon W. Stevens, age 68, of Alto, MI went to be with this Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on October 6, 2012. Eldon was a native of the sand hills of central Nebraska growing up on a livestock farm. He was introduced to Jesus Christ and was born again at the age of 19. He was united in marriage to his loving wife, Rose Mary Snakenberg, on June 6, 1964. During his life he served as a pastor and an evangelist. In 1995 he because the president of COME International Baptist Ministries and continued in that role until the time of his death. He is survived by his loving wife Rose Mary of 48 years, three sons, Timothy Eldon of South Bend, IN, Andrew William of Galloway, OH, and David Scot of Browns Summit, NC and ten grandchildren. He is also survived by his three brothers and two sisters, Leslie Stevens of Kearney, NE, Wendell Stevens of Kearney, NE, Mike Broadbent of Green Bay, WI, Virginia Butler of Elm Creek, NE and Geneva Sickler of Lincoln, NE. Eldon was born to William and Deldee Stevens on December 26, 1943 and was preceded in death by them. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, October 9th from 6-8pm at the Harvest Baptist Church, 5444 Pleasant Avenue, Hudsonville, MI and from 10-11am Wednesday, October 10th at the church. Funeral services will be held at 11am Wednesday, October 10th at Harvest Baptist Church, 5444 Pleasant Avenue, Hudsonville, MI. Pastor Ryan Kooienga officiating. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial gifts be given to Harvest Baptist Church or COME International Ministries. Memorial envelopes will be available at the visitation hours.
