Effimia (Effie) Crisman joined her Lord and Savior on June 14, 2016. Effie was born in Athens, Greece on August 16, 1937. She moved to the United States in her early 20's and became a naturalized citizen shortly thereafter. Effie became close friends with Helen Rogers and a member of Helen's family in every sense of the word. She will be missed dearly by her adopted family, Helen's husband David Rogers, Steve and Robin Rogers, Joe and Melinda Rogers, Cathy and Mike Braden, James Rogers and John and Cindy Rogers, their children and their cousins. The family finds solace knowing Effie has joined Helen and David, Jr. in the kingdom of Heaven. Effie loved animals and animals loved Effie. She would turn her back on not one of them, opening her home to any cat or dog who found itself homeless. Effie was a fabulous cook and treated the family to authentic Greek food at every occasion. Effie worked at Arlans, K-Mart and Kohl's Department Stores throughout her life and is remembered not only by her co-workers, but by customers who frequented the stores. A service to celebrate Effie will be held at Pilgrim Manor, 2000 Leonard NW, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49505 on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 2 pm.
