March 22, 2014 Edward "Eddie" Kurdziel, 78, of Grand Rapids, MI went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ while at home on Saturday, March 22nd after his battle with mesothelioma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Stella Kurdziel; brothers Wally and Ted of Rothbury; his daughter, Rochelle Stanhope and her daughter, Ceri. He is survived by his wife, Carmen Irene Kurdziel and son Eddie Joe and his wife Gretchen, and son Victor and his wife Sandy. He is also survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Eddie was best known in West Michigan in the 60's and 70's for his polka variety orchestra for which he played accordion. A memorial service will be held at Pure Heart Ministries, 6452 Fulton Street E, Ada MI at 2:00pm on Sunday, March 30th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Pure Heart Ministries.
