Edward Joseph Jacobs Jr., age 85, of Kentwood, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026.

He was born on September 11, 1940, in Grand Rapids, to Edward & Irene Jacobs.

Ed married Margaret “Peggy” Priest on October 29, 1966, in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army prior to his honorable discharge.

Ed worked for Knoll Incorporated.

He was a member of St. Mary Magdelene Catholic Church.

Ed enjoyed sudoku, jigsaw puzzles, bowling, fishing, genealogy and watching NASCAR. Ed’s grandchildren were the light of his life.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy; son, Steve (Suki) Jacobs; grandchildren, MaryKate and Brady; brother-in-law, Mike (Judi) Priest; special niece, Terri Jacobs; and other family members.

He is preceded in death by brothers, John (Marla) & Walter “Bud” Jacobs.

Visitation will be held from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 1253 52nd St SE, Kentwood, on Thursday, April 23, 2026 with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30pm. Visitation will continue at 10:00am on Friday, April 24, 2026, at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 1253 52nd St SE, Kentwood. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am at the church. Military honors will follow.
