Earl W. Parmelee, age 80 of Dorr, entered heaven into the arms his savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, April 6 2026 after a short battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He leaves behind his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Earl served in the Navy during the Vietnam War as hospital corpsman. He earned his Master’s Degree from Michigan State University. Earl spent his career in manufacturing management. He loved hunting, gardening and enjoying time on his property. Earl is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Beth; daughters, Roberta VanHarn, Victoria Kirchner,

Tayler (Michael) Kooienga, and Taryn (Ben) Baker; grandchildren, Paul Babb, Justyn Kirchner (Megan), Cole VanHarn, Zak Kirchner (Chelsie), Kristen (Matt) Kusnetz, Avery Baker, Brady Baker and Ayla Kooienga; great-grandchildren, Thea, Ellis, & Jase Kirchner, Amelia Kusnetz, Maverick and Jaxon Kirchner. Earl was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Scott Helder, his son-in-law, Steve VanHarn, and his nephew, Russ Parmelee. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 18 at Life Change Church 4250 32nd Street, Dorr. The service will be at 11:00 AM with visitation starting at 9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
