Mr. Duwane R. "Dick" Ross, age 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 20 surrounded by his family. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on July 3, 1935 to Henry and Mary Ann (Conlon) Ross. He graduated from St. Jean's where he was a shining basketball player. On November 30, 1957, he married Sandra L. Brown, the love of his life, and was looking forward to celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary at the end of the month. Together they raised 5 children, Laura (Tom) Versalle, Jeffrey Ross, Daniel Ross (deceased), Craig Ross (deceased) and Jennifer (Bruce) Miller, of whom he was very proud. Also a great source of pride were his grandchildren, Jason (deceased), Nathan, Brandi, Kandi, Nichole, Alex, and Matthew, and six great-grandchildren. Dick was a lifelong Muskegon resident. He worked 37 years as an assembler at a local plant, as well as several different secondary jobs, to provide for his family. He enjoyed golfing and bowling and was a devoted Detroit Pistons fan. Dick was preceded in death by (2) sisters, Constance and Marcella and (4) brothers, Conrad, Henry Jr., Gerald and Clifford. He is survived by (2) brothers, Terrance (Annie) and Larry (Donna). He will be sadly missed by his family. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
