Obituary

With great sadness, we announce the recent passing of Douglas D. Weishuhn Sr. He was called home to God on December 20, 2025 surrounded by family.  Doug was born on January 22, 1965 and grew up in Prescott,    Michigan.  He was always there for a good laugh, advice or just to talk. He loved to be outdoors hunting, fishing or woodworking in his garage. Doug always stepped up to help his family and friends. He was a compassionate, loyal, and hardworking man. He wore his heart on his sleeve and gave without expecting anything in return.  Doug adored his wife, Anissa Weishuhn.  You knew how true their love was just by the look in his eyes when she entered the room.  He was her best friend and the love of her life. They loved taking long drives, cooking, working in the yard and most of all spending time with the kids and grandkids. He was the best Paw Paw anyone could ask for and the laughter throughout the house made that clear.  Doug and his kids had an amazing bond. They loved to joke around and play tricks on each other. The conversations they shared could last until all hours of the night. Doug enjoyed building hunting shanties, and home improvements projects with the boys.  He looked forward to watching his youngest son, Dj play basketball and baseball. He was always waiting at the door to greet them with a smile and a huge hug. Family was everything to Doug. He loved getting together with his sisters and brothers and talking about old times.

Doug is survived by his children: Justin Weishuhn (Madison), Courtney Weishuhn, Douglas Weishuhn Jr, Mark Tromblay (Chelsie), James Tromblay (Kayleen) and Katelyn Tromblay and his siblings: Robert Weishuhn (Wendy), Marty Weishuhn (Susan), Tracy Thompson (Mike), Deborah Bell, Daryl Weishuhn (Julie Bellor), and Sandra Barwick (Robert). Doug was a grandfather to 8 grandchildren: Savannah Weishuhn, Lincoln Weishuhn, Walker Weishuhn, Mayson Schlagel, Richard Tromblay, Kiya Tromblay, Mark Tromblay Jr and Xavier Tromblay.  He was proceeded in death by his father, Robert Weishuhn, his mother, Carol Weishuhn and his brother Edward Weishuhn. Doug will be deeply missed but always carried close to our hearts and eternally loved. One day we will see that smile again when we walk through that door. You are my light on a dark night and my sunshine on a cloudy day.
