Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather was called home on January 15, 2016. He leaves behind his wife Shirley of 65 years, daughters Cindie (Greg) Nelson and Julie (John) Wilterink. Grandchildren Cory and Courtney Nickerson, Megan Ross, Lindsey (Doug) Lathrup, Stacey Cone, Brent Cone and seven great children. Doug was a veteran of WWII proudly serving his country in the United States Navy. Employed at Michigan Bell Telephone Co. for 30 years retiring in 1986 to pursue his love of golf. The world was a better place to have known him and we look forward to our joyous reunion one day. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at the Terraces of Maple Creek on Sunday January 24th at 2:00pm with visitation one hour prior. The Reverend Doug VanDoren officiating.
